Ready for the lab

Choose a convenient delivery format

Delivery format affects storage, reconstitution, and how quickly the oligonucleotide can be used. Available options come from the current reference catalog.

01

Plan storage

The format should match the expected storage period and laboratory conditions.

02

Consider preparation

Some workflows require reconstitution, while others prioritize immediate use.

03

Keep parameters separate

Delivery format does not change the sequence and is not the synthesis scale.

Delivery and storage

Delivery format determines how the product enters the laboratory workflow

Lyophilized product supports storage and custom reconstitution. Milli-Q solution reduces preparation work but requires planned concentration, aliquoting, and temperature control.

Dry lyophilized product

The laboratory defines the final volume and concentration.

Milli-Q solution by request

Product may be supplied in deionized water.

−20 °C long-term solution storage

Recommended for low concentrations and longer use.

Dark fluorescent labels

Protection from light reduces dye photodegradation.

Lyophilized product

The laboratory controls the final concentration

Dry format is useful when solution is prepared immediately before use or multiple custom concentrations are needed.

Advantage

Choose solvent, volume, and final concentration.

Preparation

Use passport amount and molecular weight for accurate reconstitution.

Mixing

Ensure complete dissolution before aliquoting.

Risk

A volume error directly changes the actual concentration.

Solution

Faster start with a prepared product

Deionized-water solution minimizes the first manual preparation step.

Advantage

The product can enter the workflow without initial reconstitution.

Concentration

Use the passport value for working dilutions.

Aliquots

Split the material according to routine consumption.

Clean handling

Avoid non-sterile contact, particularly for enzymatic workflows.

Temperature

Concentration affects storage stability

Diluted solutions are more sensitive to surface adsorption, contamination, and repeated freezing.

Higher concentration

Above 150 ng/µL (about 20 µM), solution may be kept around 25 °C for about 1–2 weeks.

Lower concentration

Use −20 °C for diluted material or long-term storage.

Freeze–thaw

Below 100 ng/µL (about 15 µM), minimize repeated freezing.

Labels

Store fluorescently labeled material in the dark.

Practical questions

Before choosing the parameters

Which format is better for a long project?

Lyophilized material or preplanned frozen aliquots are often more practical.

Does solution mean a fixed working concentration?

No. The actual concentration is recorded in the passport.

Can labeled oligonucleotides be frozen?

Yes, with light protection and minimized freeze–thaw cycles.
