Two laboratory areas: infectious agents and genetic markers
This section combines molecular detection of infectious agents in animals with genetic analysis using STRs, polymorphisms, and other markers. Each area has its own methods, products, and interpretation boundaries.
For a pathogen/nucleic-acid task, use Molecular Diagnostics of Animal Infections. For genotype, STR profile, genetic passport, or marker result, use Animal Genetic Analysis, Identification, and Breeding Traits.
Two distinct scientific directions
Molecular diagnostics of animal infections
This area includes 19 current products across 11 target families. Methods include qPCR, RT-qPCR, and RT-LAMP; intended use, sample type, and diagnostic wording are defined by the specific assay.
Animal genetic analysis
This area includes 20 current products for STR/microsatellite genotyping, genetic passporting, and defined polymorphism and marker analysis. Methods include qPCR and multiplex PCR with capillary electrophoresis and fragment analysis.
Infectious diagnostics uses qPCR, RT-qPCR, RT-LAMP, and assay-specific nucleic-acid extraction. Genetic analysis uses qPCR, multiplex PCR, capillary electrophoresis, and fragment analysis.
