SNP genotyping

SNP allele determination by real-time PCR

The SNP-Screen family is used to determine specific single-nucleotide polymorphisms by real-time PCR. The current catalog contains 291 active NP products; the most useful discovery path is by gene, rs identifier, or variant name.

Marker and method before clinical interpretation

The page is organized around the analytical task: select a specific SNP, perform allele-specific real-time PCR, and obtain a genotype/allele result. Clinical meaning is presented only when directly supported by the intended use and current documentation of a specific product.

ANALYTICAL OBJECTIVE

What the page supports

  • find an assay by gene or rs identifier;
  • select an active SNP-Screen NP product;
  • determine an SNP allele by real-time PCR;
  • open verified product documentation;
  • verify instrument compatibility for a specific assay;
  • discuss development of a new SNP real-time PCR assay.

METHODS / TECHNOLOGY

Methods and technology support

01

Method

SNP-Screen determines SNP alleles by real-time PCR using a pair of allele-specific probes. Instrument compatibility remains specific to each assay.

02

Find by marker

Each entry can expose the current product name and model and, where supported, a gene and rs identifier. This supports a large portfolio without manually featuring clinically sensitive variants.

Products and assays

Important considerations

Result interpretation

An SNP-genotyping result determines an allele or genotype. By itself, it does not establish diagnosis, disease risk, prognosis, treatment response, drug selection, or dosing. Medical interpretation requires the intended use and documentation of the specific assay.
